Because I hold dual American/British citizenship, there are no restrictions on my right to work in either country.
Currently, I am living in London.

Career Goals & Objectives:

One long-term goal is to develop, launch, edit and manage a magazine that reaches outside of the box to explore culture, art and design as well as examine crucial human rights issues and stories from around the world.

Seven Magazine is this sort of publication and, though it is unpaid work, editing and writing for Seven is something I truly love and look forward to weekly. To always be involved in a project of this nature is a life-long goal of mine. I am currently working on a series of articles that focus on women - achievements and issues that span all cultures.

My major interest lies in the connection of all humanity, or as Juliana Spahr puts it: "This connection of everyone with lungs." I am equally infatuated by the differences and similarites among people of every country or social group. Also, the dynamic that exists in large multicultural cities like London and the creative process influenced by unique cultural experiences.

In my spare time, I have been teaching myself programmes like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver and plan to incorporate Flash eventually as well.

It is crucial to me that I understand all aspects of magazine journalism from reporting and editing to designing to commissioning work and advertising to website maintenance. While I have a lot to learn, I am at it every day in one way or another because it is a passion.

I am very keen to take on freelance assignments writing art, culture, news, fashion or other articles on similar topics.

Another goal of mine closely related to my writing is to study for my MA in Anthropology and Cultural Politics. This covers many issues I'd like to cover in my writing like sex trafficking, FGM, social interaction among different races living in the same environment, creativity and different ways of living this life - none of which are inherently better than the others.

A third, more personal goal, is to continue to travel and to get involved in projects abroad. Habitat for Humanity offers some excellent opportunities that interest me and there are other centres set up by various groups where I would love to volunteer: Eve Ensler's projects, the Somaly Mam foundation in Cambodia, etc.
